Chalk Board

I. am. so. tired.
Saturday night we went downtown for one of my girlfriends birthday parties...and we didn't get back until late. I loved spending HOURS talking with all of the girls, laughing, and eating great food. :)
With that being said, i wasn't able to sleep saturday night; my body just wouldn't let me fall asleep.
I attempted to take a nap yesterday but had phone calls/texts waking me up so i just said screw it and ended up finishing the painting in the dinning room while one if my girlfriends came over and made red velvet cookies from scratch for her speech for school.
Let's just say this Monday morning is already kicking my butt and i'm going to need caffeine to make it through the day! WOOOOOOOT.
Since my brain is working at half speed i'm going to post a quick project i did a few days ago, and i'll let the pictures do the talking, since i don't trust myself to not spout out something stupid. :)
. . .
I bought the chalkboard at hobby lobby {which can i just say, i wasn't that impressed with everything. I thought it was an overpriced michaels/ac moore/marshalls/tj maxx}. I busted out my favorite wood stain {rust-oleum Kona}, then placed tacks on the back so that it could paint the sides without it rubbing off on the drop cloth too much. I let the stain sit for a shorter amount of time than normal because i didn't want the board to be too dark; then took a cloth and removed the excess stain then i left it outside to cure for a few days.
I've already put the chalkboard to use and will share it with you at some point this week, so get excited!
. . .
Can i also share my apologies...i am so far behind on blog reading/commenting/etc.
SOOOOOOOOOO i'm hoping to resolve that this week. :)

I totally agree about Hobby Lobby. Today was my first time going to one (since I'm visiting my in-laws and we don't have any in Portland). I thought it was hyped up in my mind way more than it truly was. I love what you did with the chalkboard!
