Frankly Friday...v14

Frankly...
i can't even come up with a coherent sentence.
I'm sitting at the Vet with Tobi.
He's apparently in anaphylaxis.
Which means if i hadn't brought him in, he would have died.
Let me put it in the terms the vet did: "this is identical to if someone was allergic to bees and was stung by 100 bees"...he's in critical condition.
I'm a wreck.
Hopefully the little guy makes it out ok.

Thankful Thursday

This is the last Thankful Thursday of November, how did this happen?!
{1}
I'm thankful that i'm able to curl up on the couch after a long day and watch Mean Girls & Harry Potter. I mean really, that makes for a solid day!
{2}
I'm thankful for the life i've been given...even if it doesn't always make complete sense, or if i'm super impatient for what is to come, God has given me each day and i need to make the best out of it.
{3}
I'm thankful that my house doesn't still look like this (ok it still kind of  looks like this):
I worked to decorate some last night, clean up, and organize so it didn't look like such a hot mess.
I mean it is still a good looking mess but not a HOT mess... :)
You can kind of see some of the Christmas decorations but i'll post them soon...so no worries there.
{4}
I'm thankful that i get to spend some time with some of my favorite ladies tonight.
{5}
I'm thankful for y'all!
I know people say this all of the time, but i've met some of the most amazing women.
Women who never cease to make me laugh, encourage me, remind me that i'm not alone in struggles, and constantly have my back.
There are SO MANY of you that i want to meet IRL and sit down for hours and chat.
I don't know what makes me so interesting that y'all keep coming back...but i'm thankful that you do.
So, my readers {do you ever feel weird saying that? i do}, thank you for investing in my life, and i promise i will continue to do the same for you!
. . .
What are you thankful for today?
Don't forget about Frankly Friday tomorrow! :)

Pinteresting Wednesday...v14

Is anyone else conflicted on being EXTREMELY ESTATIC AND OH MY GOSH PUMPED or ummmm...what the heck you better not ruin my childhood over this new show:
Girl Meets World
Hmmm...if this spin off of Boy Meets World ruines the old one, i might snap; BUT since they have Ben Savage & Danielle Fishel signed on as the parents...it might work.
 . . .

What's been eating up my pinterest boards latley?!
Psshhht you guessed it, mostly Christmas related, but that won't be all i'm sharing today.

^ one of my favorite episodes!

Well, i'm still behind on my reading/responding to comments...my apologies.
I've just been off my game this week and i can't seem to catch up.
Meh, life happens right?!
So to help me connect back with you, & please share with me one of your favorite things about the Holiday Season. Hot chocolate, family, movies, music, traditions, etc....anything or everything i totally want to hear it!

You are my sunshine...

I've got to be honest...
...today i've got nothing.
You know, this happens from time to time.
. . .
So i thought i would share what i did last night and hopefully catch up on answering emails/reading blogs...i've gotten so dang behind!
For my grandparents (mom's parents) 55th wedding anniversary my grandmother wanted my aunts to come sing with her at a senior citizens dinner at the church. You see, my grandmother loves to sing Hymns and i've grown up singing them with my family...basically i love them.
There is something so beautiful about a Hymn that just resounds with reverence...now don't get me wrong i like love a lot of the Christian music out today...but i also appreciate the traditional.
So last night i went to support my grandmother, aunts and uncle sing a few songs for the senior citizens class. I was most definitely the youngest one there by a solid 20 years...so that was interesting.
The last song they sang was "You Are My Sunshine". Apparently my grandparents used to sing it to their girls (4 of them including my mom) all of the time. You see, this song sometimes brings me a little sadness because they all sang to my mom right before she passed away.
So last night, before they sang, they dedicated the song to my mom.
I definitely had tears in my eyes and my heart was full of love & memories.

. . .
What songs remind you of those you love?

Hello Monday...

This may come across as whiny...
...but i would just like to say that a four day weekend was not enough.
=)
I had an absolutely wonderful thanksgiving. I remember sitting around my family thinking i'm so blessed to have these people in my life. It truly is a beautiful season...and one that constantly reminds me to NOT take the family that i have for granted every day.
I even got a little teary eyed as i watched each member of my crazy, loud, overly rambunctious family and silently thanked God for threading my life together with theirs.
That isn't to say that my family doesn't have problems...we do...all families do; but it is what you CHOSE to do with those problems, and how you choose to face them: divided or together.
We always choose together.
. . .
I was able to hang out with my brother for a few days...and it was GREAT.
It is always humorous how my cat, Tobi, doesn't enjoy being around him after he has been gone for an extended period of time...it's actually kind of sad really.
Bo left friday night to head back upstate for the BIG Clemson vs USC rival game.
Clemson lost...& i dont want to talk about it.
. . .
I was going to share some Christmas decorations today...but ummm my house currently looks like a rabid pack of two year olds swarmed through and pulled everything into a mess.
The joys of decorating.
So instead i'll share just a few of the pictures i took with some of my family this weekend.
{aka this is about 8 people, we had close to 30 out there}
What?! You don't want to look at pictures of my lovely family instead of Christmas decorations?
Deal with it. =)
. . .
{^Brother}
My grandparents have been married well over 50 years! =)
. . .
Do you feel like you now me better?
Possibly want to stalk my life?
Pshhh i would too after seeing how awesome my family is. :)
. . .
How was your thanksgiving?!
& don't forget, if you're participating in the Christmas Trinket & Tradition swap, packages go out soon.

Frankly Friday...v13

 What is Frankly Friday?
Let's define Frankly shall we...
frankly |ˈfra ng klÄ“|adverbin an open, honest, and direct manner
. . .
I want this to be a way for all of us to be open, raw, and transparent with not only each other...but with ourselves. I think we put a lot of stock into the "fear" of what others may think of us...into the "fear" of really putting what's on your heart out there in case someone decides to tear you down.
I'm over the fear & you should be too.
So let's write...whether it's about a situation you're struggling through, a victory you've made, a memory that you can't let go of...anything as long as it's honest.
. . .
Frankly...
I'm so glad i spent time with family yesterday {& i'm spending more time with family today}.
I'm able to put up some (not all) of the Christmas decorations today...and then maybe hit some stores
So...instead of reading my {non-written} thoughts why don't you go spend time with your family, set up Christmas decorations, or just chill around.
. . .

Thankful...

. . .
I'm thankful...that i get to spend time with my family.
I'm thankful...for the warmth of a home.
I'm thankful...for the love that is within my heart.
I'm thankful...for the few days i get with my brother
& that he lets me practice taking pictures of him without too much complaint...basically he rocks.
{Hunky right?!}
I'm thankful...for not having to work today!
I'm thankful...for food in my pantry.
I'm thankful...that i have a cat that lets me squeeze him daily.
I'm thankful...for the ability to hear and see.
I'm thankful...for the daily over-looked pleasures of life.
I'm thankful...for two of the most amazing parents that i miss every day.
I'm thankful...that i was given a heart that loves to express art.
I'm thankful...for God's Word.
I'm thankful...that i love reading young adult fiction.
I'm thankful...for so many things.
. . .
Most importantly...
I'm thankful...for Jesus Christ and His forgiveness & sacrifice.
Without Him, my life wouldn't have much meaning and in all honesty I probably wouldn't even be alive without Him and His love{another story for another time}.
I'm so thankful that i have a Savior who loves me unconditionally, who strengthens me, who corrects me, shelters me, comforts me, embraces and encourages me...a Most High King who calls me daughter.
I am beyond blessed.
. . .
I'll be out at my grandparents today with my mother's side of the family.
Tomorrow i'll be with my father's side of the family.
Spending time with family=WINNING in my book.
. . .
What are your plans for the Holiday?
What are you thankful for?

Come to me...

I wanted to share a song/video with you this morning that has helped to keep me grounded the last few days.
Come To Me
By: Jamie Grace
. . .
This song has just been lifting me up, and reminding me that i am never alone.
I love her voice, and presence. You can completely tell that she loves God fiercely and radiates pure joy. She is definitely a delight to listen to and her CD is so much fun! :)
. . .
In other news I watched The Vow last night for the first time.
I really really liked it.

here.
'Aint that the truth.
Ha.
In all seriousness...i thought the movie was great!
The ending however, meh...it was alright. I felt like i was kind of left hanging there.
Have any of you seen it? What were your thoughts?
. . .
I'm so excited for Thanksgiving, for many reasons really!
I love spending time with my family and building memories.
I'm also going to take some pictures of my cousins this year so that will be exciting...we shall see.
. . .
I'm a little brain dead today...forgive me :)

Breaking Dawn & Re-arranging.

First things First...
This was AMAZING.
If you haven't seen it {and you've read the books} oh man are you in for it.
I literally {not an exaggeration or being over dramatic in the slightest} almost passed out. I had tunnel vision, saw spots, and was hyperventilating so badly that my friend was dying laughing at me.
And no, i'm not that dramatic of a person...i'm just attached to these characters (from reading their stories at thousand times) and felt so...unraveled.
And that is all i will say.
{If you have seen the movie...oh my gosh i want to talk about it & hear your reaction haha}
I must also add, that i am so beyond thrilled with the way they tied up the Twilight Saga within this movie...i think they did it justice! For the record, i've already seen it twice.
& lastly {can you tell i'm worked up about this movie?!}...Garrett was an un-expecting favorite for me. :)
. . .
I figure i should post about something other than breaking dawn so i'll share with you some re-arranging we did a few weeks ago.
My roommate, Maria, moved in a little over a year ago and has kept her room in the exact same way my brother had it (minus adding a different bed from my grandmother). The old bed was in the spot where the vacuum is sitting, i forgot to take a picture before we broke it down and took it out of the room.
. . .
Once we pushed all of the remaining furniture into the middle of the room, and took everything out of the room (you should have seen the hallway, den, living room) we wiped down EVERY surface. The walls, doors, base boards, and fan. For some reason this room collects the most dust out of the entire house, and it hasn't been REALLY dusted (aka everything moved out) since Maria moved in.
Here are the after in progress shots now:
. . .
There are a lot of things left to do in Maria's room:
-Paint walls & trim.
-Buy & hang curtains.
-Re-paint & replace knobs on the white small dresser (i guess that is what i will call it).
-Paint the back of the bookshelf (it is currently green, and has been since i was about 5 years old).
-Collect more art and create a gallery wall above her bed (we already have one picture on the wall, the rest will fan out to the right of that one).
-Find a mirror to hang above the lamp (in picture 2) similar to this one:

here.
. . .
So all in all i think it is looking mighty fine so far!
Just in case you were interested in where she got some of the stuff:
Maria's comforter {Target}
Headboard {World Market}
Nightstand {Ikea} *can't find link online, sorry!
White dresser {been in my family for years...aka no idea}
Book shelf {been in my family for years...aka no idea}
Senorita picture {Ross}
. . .
How was y'alls weekend?
