Bla.

Story of my life at the moment.
My head is a jumble of different ideas/thoughts/memories/etc.
I'm hoping to get some of my creativity, frustration, hopes & joys out of me this weekend by either painting, doing some crafts, DIY'ing around the house, whate'have'you.
Man that was a lot of commas. Whoops.
. . .
I'm not really going to make a list of things i'd like to accomplish or would like to craft because if i'm honest i deviate from lists every.single.day.
. . .
Tonight i'll be running errands and hopefully seeing a movie with my broseph and cousin and then tomorrow is packed full of fun; all the while Sunday i'm going to church and a wedding!
I'm telling you i can't see straight
. . .
Next Week...i'll be in a photoshoot. Yeah, you read that right...a photoshoot.
I'll give you all the details after the shoot is completed but just know that i'm working with some awesome people and that it is to help build a portfolio of an amazing woman with an even more amazing goal! holla.
. . .
What is your weekend looking like?
Anything crafty you want to try out?
Are you wedding hopping like i have been?

Edisto & Honesty

As mentioned yesterday i spent the last three days with family out at Edisto Beach.
It was a lot of fun, and i look forward to it every single year.
We stay up late, wake up early, spend all day at the beach, eat food we shouldn't, play board games, laugh, and like any family ruffle each others feathers.
. . .
I breezed through two different books, all because the book i REALLY wanted to read wouldn't download to my nook...you want to talk about frustrating? Oh well.
. . .
This week the goal is to stay on track with exercising, cleaning, and getting some things set up for DIY.
My goal this weekend is to pick out a new paint color for my bedroom and hopefully do some sort of craft. I laugh almost every time i say the word 'craft' because it makes me feel like i'm in 5th grade all over again and i'll be glueing yarn to a piece of construction paper....hmm good idea.
. . .
I'm sorry i've been so short the last few days, but the truth is...i haven't had much going on in the area of home improvement, crafting, DIY, cooking, etc. I've been super busy, out of town, and very sleepy.
We all have moments like this right?
I've got to be honest though...it makes me feel like a bad blogger.  How crazy right? I feel bad for not doing more, updating more, writing things with more substance.
I guess i'm realizing that the more i try to do things FOR an entry it makes my life complicated...but the more that i live life and seize each day to it's fullest...it provides me with more material.
Just rambling through some thoughts...
. . .
What about you?
How was your weekend?
Do you struggle finding things to blog about?

Edisto

I just wanted to check in...i've been with the family the last three days enjoying the sun [a little too much, my back is toasty], laughing, staying up late, and enjoying life.
We have a three bedroom beach house that we cram 20+ people into and it always makes for interesting and hilarious times.
Here is a small taste of what's been going down.
See yall tomorrow!

Beautiful Things.

I figured it's been a while since i shared some of my latest drool worthy things found on pinterest.
It's honestly very sad how addicting the site can be, and also how extremely self-depricating it can make you. Don't get me wrong i love pinterest, but i find myself always thinking "man, i wish my house looked like that, i said things like that, i had a wardrobe like that..." do you do that as well?
I hope i'm not alone in that.
Anyways, let's get to these lovely images shall we.
. . .
Take a dry erase marker and write on your washer the items that can not go in the dryer. genius.
. . .
1 | 2 | 3 | 4 | 5 | 6 | 7 | 8 | 9
. . .
I'm starting to get the creative itch again...so we shall see what will come of it!
I'll keep you posted.

Me....really?!?!

I'm a little more than floored right now. :)
The beautiful, sister from another mister, Abbey over at Finding My Forever nominated for a blog award.
WHAT!?!?!?  Yes your reaction is about the same as mine...shock.
Happy shock, mind you.
. . .
I've come to realize that Abbey and i have a lot in common, fear of surgery/zombies, experience(d) long distance relationships, hilarious dry humor, attempting to learn how to run, loving honesty, and so so much more!
I guess i'm floored because it makes me a little happy that someone(s) actually enjoy and read my lil' ol rambling steam of conscious. Some days i dont even know what to write, but i try anyways...it's all a learning experience for sure.
So thank you for the nomination Abbey!
. . .
Let's get to the basic rules:
1. I post 7 random facts about me.
2. Thank the person who nominated you in your blog. {Done}
3. Put the Liebster blog button on your post. {Done}
4. Nominate your 5 favorite bloggers with less than 200 GFC followers.
5. Let them know you nominated them.
. . .
Since i am the queen of random...
1. I loath the sucking of the teeth/pop sound. It literally makes my skin crawl  and it makes me want to throw things at whomever is doing it.
2. I couldn't spell the world 'definitely' without spell check until i was 21.
3. I have a love/loath relationship with the beach. I love hanging out, jumping in the water, walking the beach and soaking up some waves. I loath packing the cooler, dragging it over the dunes, coming back with sand in inappropriate places, etc.
4. I sleep like i'm in a coffin. I used to move around a lot as a child but now i fall asleep on my back with either my hands on my chest or by my side...this is why i'm meant for Edward...joke guys, that was a joke (the edward part anyways)
5. While i like to have clean spaces at all times  I sometimes let the room get a little "messy" so i can enjoy cleaning it up...weird right?
6. I get sucked into books easily. Once this happens i become completely wrapped up in the story line and have been known to cry when a series ends...i'm a little emotional sometimes what can i say?! :)
7. I rarely paint my nails. It isn't that i dont want to, its that i'm too spastic to keep the paint on long enough to justify spending the forever'and'a'day amount of time it takes to put it on.
. . .
Now i want to list off some blogs that i really enjoy reading:
1. Sarah Grace at Gracefully Made. We actually met through a mug swap hosted by Suzelsays blog. Sarah is such a genuinely nice, stylish, and fun person! I enjoy reading her posts a lot!
2. Joslin at Joslin Williams. She is amazing, hilarious, and real. I just recently stumbled across her blog and i'm so happy i did--i feel like i've known her for years!
3. Jenna at Hey Home Slice. I'm not sure how many followers she has (it could be over 200), but her blog makes me consistently drool and happy! She posts a lot of inspiration, DIY tutorials, and just random tidbits from life. I love seeing when she has a new update...it is always worthwhile to read!
4. Beverly at La La Love Learn and Laugh. Sheesh, another fantastic blogger i just happened to stumble upon recently, who is getting married soon!!  Her blog is full of style, fun ideas, and humor...a fantastic combination!
5. Last but not least, my lovely friend Christina at The Lost & Found. She is one of my real-life best friends who is full of inspiration, wisdom, and humility. She is continually being encouraged and encouraging on her journey to a new and beautiful life...one step at a time! Plus the girl is funny as crap and always puts a smile on your face. TRUST ME on that one!
. . .
So take a few minutes, check out the blogs, get to know them and bookmark them because you KNOW you want to!

Dirty Myrtle.

I was able to leave town this weekend with two of my favorite people, Maria & Christina.
We wanted to go somewhere, but not have to drive 5 hours to get there...insert Myrtle Beach
It is about a 2 hour drive and full of things to see and do.
I've been to Myrtle Beach several times throughout my life, my family has a place where we can stay and not worry about having to rent a hotel, which is always nice.
We, in the lovely Charleston area, have always called it "Dirty Myrtle"...well because it's a little dirty.
It's just a nickname that i'm not sure who came up with, but it has always stayed. It's not a dig at Myrtle Beach because there are/were a lot of beautiful places and people intertwined...it's just a local nickname i guess. I'm sure some people have a handful of interesting nicknames for Charleston.
. . .
Broadway at the beach is a place where you can get some shopping done, go to some pretty nice restaurants, and get involved in some interesting/cool activities.
Insert Capriz...this was hands down the BEST restaurant i've been to in a LONG time. We all concluded that we would be hitting up this place every single time we head back to Myrtle Beach. Yes, it was that good and yes, you will thank me later. It was a little pricey, but completely worth every penny.
The strip however (on the beach) is another story. It's just a little....dirty, that's the best way i can explain it. Maybe it's because it's super touristy and people are just continually going through....but it makes you feel like you're in a movie or something.
We ended up going to Ripley's Believe it or Not Museum and to be honest it kind of let me down. :(
I'm not really sure what i was expecting...but that wasn't it. I will say that i learned a lot, it was set up really cool, and some of the exhibits were incredible! I just felt like it was...lacking. We ended up taking some funny pictures though, so that is always a plus!
Yes we're goobers.
So my suggestion, skip the museum (unless you REALLY want to go inside) and instead stroll around the strip to get a true Myrtle Beach tourist experience!
We also went to Market Commons and were completely blown away!
If you're ever in Myrtle Beach and you're looking for some fun shopping/a beautiful place head over there and you will absolutely love it! First of all, their Piggly Wiggly (which is a grocery store) is AMAZING! It is huge and so nice, a lot nicer than the ones we have locally (which they are not horrible by any means) sheesh they have a starbucks in there! Yum.
We went into Francescas (which we have here) and perused a lot of the amazing jewelry and fun little nick-nacks. We are always easily entertained...it's just how we roll.
. . .
We also were able to hit up an Anthropologie store {which we're getting one in Charleston soon!}.
DANG their store's displays are gorgeous and completely creative.
I felt like i was walking in a fairy land...a ridiculously over-priced and i could never afford fairy land.
I mean...$118 for a shower curtain (while yes it is gorgeous) is just insane.
Do you see the canvas's up there?! Yes...yes that will be a future DIY project for sure! :)
. . .
Last but not least we went to Hand Picked {which we also have here in Charleston}.
I absolutely love that store. It has some of the most beautiful jewelry and the prices are completely awesome.
Maria & Christina got new watches (mine is from target, i'm the watch in the middle) and i love them! I got a new anchor belt that i'm still drooling over! :)
. . .
So all'in'all it was a fantastic weekend!
We were able to hang out by the pool, shop, laugh like crazy, make hilarious videos, watch some HGTV {which i loved because i don't have cable}, veg out, and just enjoy each others company!
I can't wait to do it again. :)
. . .
How was your weekend?
Have you ever been to Myrtle Beach?
Have you visited these stores before?

June Birchbox.

My JuneBirchbox is here!
I had completely forgotten about it this month and was pleasantly surprised when i opened my mailbox and BAM there it was. It's almost like a surprise birthday party...or any occasion you get to open presents...except you pay for it. ha.
Let me give a quick run-down for those of you who might not know what a Birchbox is. You pay $10 a month and in return you get a box (that can fit in most mailboxes) full of about 5 samples for you to test out. The samples they send you are based off of a beauty profile you fill out when you sign up.
Very simple, very effective.
Let's get to this month's goodies!!
. . .
. . .
The details...
1. Stila One Step Bronze. I'm actually very excited about this product! I love summertime sun'kissed skin but the damage it can have always frightens me. [even though i still go lay out in the sun...but i DO wear sunscreen] Maybe it's the southerner in me that believes tan skinned is always a must.
2. Juicy Couture. ohmygosh this smells amazing. uh-mazing. The End.
3. Coola Face SPF 30 Matte Finish Cucumber. Well that was a mouthful to say out loud! The description says that this sunblock is ideal for sensitive skin, which thankfully i don't really have a problem with yet at least. I'm always looking for new sunscreen...so i'm sure i'll be busting this out soon enough.
4. Stainiac. This is a two-in-one product; you are able to use it not only on your lips but on your cheeks as well! I'm all about minimizing make up routines, so this is going to be a huge plus for me!
5. Tili bags. These are designed specifically for traveling, especially flying. I'm not a huge flyer so i will more than likely be using this for beach/pool trips. :)
. . .
Have you gotten your birchbox for june yet?
Link up below once you write a post about it.
I'm very interested to see how other people's boxes look this month!

Surprise!

warning: picture overload.
As mentioned yesterday this past saturday we had a surprise birthday party for my friend/roomie Maria!
I wanted it to have a nautical'ish theme and was drooling over images on pinterest for a few weeks. Needless to say that some of these people who throw parties must have some $$ in'tha'bank because to make some of those decorations was going to be crazy expensive.
I digress.
I was honestly very surprised that she had no idea ANYTHING was going on (or so she says). My brother and I, and our friend Christina, almost ruined the whole thing on multiple occasions. Apparently we all get so excited that we want to share our excitement with everyone aka it's hard to throw a surprise party.
The run-down went a little something like this.
I was going to spend the day hanging out with my friend Beverly while Christina took Maria out for the day. Well, i was up at 5am to go on my 3 mile run and when i got back to the house and started cleaning a little bit, maria jumped up and threw on a dress and left to go hang out with her parentals and nephew. The only negative---she didn't fix her hair or makeup. AKA she would be frustrated to have pictures taken of her at her surprise birthday party without looking her best. (you know you would be too)
We had to come up with an elaborate plan [web of lies] to get her to come back to the house and get ready. Enter fo'ladies night. Christina tells Maria that we're going to all go out to dinner (all the girls) at one of the fancy restaurants in town and we're all going to dress nautically. Christina then sends me a text telling me to text her back multiple times so it looks like she sent out a mass message about dinner.
Muahahha.
LONG story short, i ran errands, waiting patiently while they were at the house getting ready, and then turned into overdrive the minute they left. Thankfully i had Beverly, Donna, and Becky there to help me with the decorations otherwise it wouldn't have gotten completely set up.
I had everyone park at the pool parking lot behind my house so Maria wouldn't see their cars and obviously it would ruin the whole surprise thing. We shut the door to the den and waited on Christina's  text messages to tell us where they were; next thing you know you hear the door being unlocked and then Maria says "I smell corn, what has she been cooking?" [one of the side dishes was corn haha]
She opened the door and SURPRISE!
VICTORY!
. . .
We had a photobooth set up [aka i bought 3 yards of fabric and put ended up tapping it against the wall] with fun props and the outcome was hands down the best thing for the party. I'm going to be making a "yearbook" for each year and these pictures are going to be filling up the pages!
. . .
I just want to say, while uploading these pictures i continued to laugh until tears were rolling from my eyes...maybe its one of those you just had to be there kind of things. Also, it's pretty obvious but i'll go ahead and point it out, the bird gets around.
 bromance in full swing.
Funny story about the picture above. They had been playing with a tension rope and well, Lauren accidentally let it go and BAM right on Jared's foot...i just happened to snap the camera at the right time. Hilarious.
. . .
All in all it was a fantastic night!

Have you had any parties lately?
What was your favorite part?
Did you do a photobooth?
